Micron's quarterly revenue nearly quintuples to $54.2bn, and it guides to about $61.5bn next quarter
An 86.8% gross margin, $37.7bn of net income in three months, and a forecast for still more next quarter.
Micron Technology reported its fiscal fourth quarter, which ended in late August, after the market closed on 30 September. Revenue was $54,229m, against $41,456m the quarter before and $11,315m a year earlier. Full-year revenue was $133.2bn, against $37.4bn in the previous fiscal year.
Quarterly GAAP net income was $37.7bn, or $32.87 per diluted share. GAAP gross margin was 86.8%, and 87.0% on Micron's non-GAAP basis. Net capital spending in the quarter was $10,774m. Micron bought back $650m of its stock and declared a $0.15 dividend, payable on 29 October.
For the first quarter of fiscal 2027 it guides to revenue of $61.5bn, plus or minus $1.5bn, and non-GAAP earnings of $38.15 a share, plus or minus $1.00.
In the release, chief executive Sanjay Mehrotra said Micron expects an even stronger fiscal 2027 and is increasing its investment in technology, products and manufacturing, and he credited its strategic customer agreements with adding confidence that the results will last. He also adopted the White House's new “Super Intelligence” label for AI.
The release gives no figure for high-bandwidth memory, the stacked memory that sits beside AI accelerators. Outlets disagreed on the after-hours share move, so none is given here.
